The company traces its roots back to the Farooqi family and the entrepreneurial legacy established by Khawar Farooqi, whose values of integrity, persistence, and community service continue to guide the organization today. The Khawar name was chosen to honor the man who inspired the family's business journey and laid the foundation for future generations.
In 2004, brothers Zain Farooqi and Shayan Farooqi were asked by their father to help take over a struggling neighborhood convenience store and gas station in Houston. What started as a small family operation became the beginning of something much bigger. Through long hours, disciplined management, and an unwavering commitment to customers, the brothers transformed that location into a successful business and began expanding into additional stores, fuel operations, real estate, technology ventures, and development projects.
Over the years, the family grew its presence throughout Texas, building a portfolio of convenience stores, travel centers, fuel stations, real estate developments, technology companies, and investment businesses. Their operations became known through Khawar & Sons and the Now & Forever family of companies, serving communities across multiple industries while remaining family-owned and operated.
The brothers learned the fuel business from the ground up. They experienced firsthand the challenges fuel retailers face every day — supply reliability, pricing volatility, logistics coordination, inventory management, and customer expectations. Those experiences ultimately led to the creation of ZASHKO Fuel Distribution.
Today, ZASHKO Fuel Distribution combines decades of operational experience in fuel retail, transportation, logistics, real estate, and business development. The company supplies regular gasoline, premium gasoline, diesel, E85, DEF, and fuel-related products to gas stations, convenience stores, truck stops, fleets, commercial operators, and growing businesses throughout Texas and beyond.
